This is one of the most profoundthreads in a long time. We've learnEd so much about the Atlantis group, their background -- their generosity.
Can you tell us more about that BOE master list? I would be on that list during the mid 70s. I guess that it includes congregation city and state (if USA)? How about other positions -- ministerial servants, bethelites, circuit and district overseers, gilead grads?
We on JWN would love to hug y'all and shake your collective hands.

somehow, i don't have a warm fuzzy feeling when i keep hearing from the center of disease control, "ebola is not spread through the air ...".
ever sneezed?
the famous myth busters had a revealing show on the power of the sneeze anecdotally it has a velocity of some 35 miles per hour and travels a distance of some 30 feet.. ever traveled in the close confines of an air liner?
Is CDC ready to redefine protocol for Ebola protection to include hermetically sealing of patient?
Five Days Ago!
"The head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said there was 'clearly' a breach in protocol that led to a Texas health care worker contracting Ebola after treating a Liberian man who later died from the virus, although authorities do not yet know what that breach was."
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cdc-chief-on-second-ebola-case-there-was-a-breach-in-protocol/
Today -- no break in protocol?
Dr. Daniel Varga of Texas Health Resources told ABC Chief Health and Medical Editor Dr. Richard Besser. "We have no indication that Nina or Amber had any break in protocol," he said. "We were working with the best information we had. In retrospect, would we have liked to hermetically seal them so this didn't happen? Absolutely."

So, now it's possible that hermitically sealing the patient may become the latest in protocol modification?
Recall what a hermetic seal is?
"A hermetic seal has the quality of being airtight."

With reference to a sneeze this MIT researcher makes an interesting summary:
"Most of the larger, heavier drops fall quickly to the floor under the influence of gravity. The smaller and lighter particles (those that are five microns or less across) are less affected by gravity and can stay airborne almost indefinitely as they are caught up in and dispersed by the room's airflow. Ever sneezed? The famous Myth busters had a revealing show on the power of the sneeze – anecdotally it has a velocity of some 35 miles per hour and travels a distance of some 30 feet.
Ever traveled in the close confines of an air liner? Not everyone properly covers their mouth.
See what I mean?

That jwfacts.com link is priceless, BB.
I remember those days well having been dunked in 1956. I don't know why it took me till '77 to shake myself to reality. However, I recall well the hype -- the strong implications (the WT never came out with a direct promise such as they did with the year 1925 -- yet they did a slight apology in the early 80's for their multitude of published implications ) and kinda turned my head after getting it puffed up with an appointment as an elder. I recall the feeling of self-importance at giving instruction talks in the TMS, the occasional public talks at various congregations. Having 4 young boys and a marriage that I suspected would crumble (it did) was a deterrent for a while. Those back burner issues simply got too bothersome to ignore any longer.
To those lurking -- the 1975 fiasco was real. I was there and will never forget. Check out your 1975 yearbook (on WT library CD), searching for the year 1925 and "anna macdonald" how they were starting to prepare the flock for disappointment in that 50th anniversary.

i was hesitant signing up but really need as much input from the people on this forum to get a clear understanding on things.
JWinQuestion: I brought out earlier how I read an article how gay partners are 17 times more likely to get an STD. The thought in my head of gay people dying because of increasing STDS due to their sexual lifestyle saddens me. That is why I don't condone the practice.
There have been many good comments already but one that may have been missed is this. Your "gay partners are 17 times more likely to get an STD" doesn't ring true. I might buy it if you were talking MEN since there is usually penetration involved. How about gay women where there is no penetration? See my point? Does this mean that men are unfairly targeted because they were born a male -- and that gay women are blessed simply because they were born a female?
I am a 73 year old heterosexual but began to question the society's (and most fundamental Christianity) harsh postion against gays when I was newly baptized at age 16. Dad and Mom had already been baptized a few years and Dad had become quite staunch about homosexuality. My uncle Leo, a homosexual, had arrived in our cityfor a visit and phoned Mom to extend his greetings and asked he we were home so he could come over. I could tell that Mama was excited that she would be seeing her brother for the first time in a long while. Not the case with Dad -- "he won't be allowed to set foot in this house if I have anything to say about it!"
I don't remember the argument that ensued cuz I stepped outside -- I hated their fighting. I do remember that Mama got her way as Uncle Leo showed up and was invited inside for a good visit.
I'll never forget the hate-filled and cruel position that Dad had adopted thanks to Watchtower teachings. I thought to myself, "are we supposed to interrogate every person that comes to our doorstep and only if they satisfy our moral standards -- then invite them inside?" Of course not, so why pick on family -- an uncle who was quite well-to-do his entire life, but simply had a different sexual lifestyle? At his death he had lived some 60 years in a monogomous relationship with "uncle" Jerry and had almost single-handedly financially supported his mother (my grandmother) from long-distance. This was before the days of our current welfare programs.

with the recent post on the jw website of a use of terms disclaimer, we should all start using tor a free software that can allow us to hide our real ip addresses when visiting jw.borg.. https://www.torproject.org/.
By Googling the terms "tor security compromised", you will be able to explore a slew of articles on the recently publicized TOR problem. One of them leads its story with, "Andy Malone, head of Microsoft’s Enterprise Security, claims that the TOR (The Onion Router) network does not provide the anonymity that its many users think it does. ..."
